Obtaining a Marriage & Civil Union Registration:

Marriage & Civil Union Registration
  • Proof of residency in Pennsville: drivers license, rent receipt, utility bill
  • Identification: Birth Certificate and either drivers license or passport and social security number
  • Application fee: $28.00 Check or Money Order payable to the Township of Pennsville
  • One witness who knows both parties, is 18 or older, must be present when applying
  • Previous Domestic Partnership/Marriage/Civil Union that was dissolved legally? You must bring a copy of the final court judgment. In the case of a death, bring the death certificate.
  • Blood tests are not required in NJ
  • There is a three day waiting period
  • You are responsible for arrangements with a Religious officiant, county clerk, county surrogate or superior court judge.
  • You must provide the date, time, place and name of person performing the ceremony.
  • MINOR applicants, either under age 18: both parents must be present along with two witnesses
  • MINOR applicants, either under age 16: both parents must be present along with two witnesses and a Superior Court Judge must grant judicial consent.
  • Print, fill-in, and bring Application with you. Groom is applicant “A” / Bride is applicant “B”.
  • Appointments are not required but recommended.
  • No application will be accepted after 3:30 pm.
