The Governing Body of each municipality must appoint a Tax Collector by ordinance. Prior to appointment, the Collector must possess a New Jersey Tax Collector Certificate. (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141 and 145.7). The Tax Collector’s Office is also charged with the duty of selling trash stickers, dump permits, and pet licensing.
